“We have just had the most perfect week away at Troney’s Valley Escapes. Two families under one roof. Firstly the glamps are finished to a very high spec with lots of fine details. We had children from 6 months to 11 years old. With a chalk board for them to draw on under the glamp, swing and slide private area, hot tub and amazing Cow Shed which is packed with loads for the family to do. It has been lovely to have no WiFi, kids not on devices and proper quality family time, something we can all do with more! The views are to die for and some of the most amazing sun sets sitting our on the veranda with a glass of bubbly. And now the host “Henry and his son Arthur”… very attentive, with a balance of not being able to do enough for us. He is such a genuine person who has put so much effort into making this a relaxing, fun filled place to stay for all the family. We have had the best time and we will definitely be back. Loved roasting marshmallows on the fire pit snc exploring. “What an amazing place to stay. We recently spent 4 nights here (at Owls Den) and loved every minute of it. The thought, detail and minor touches that have gone into making this experience truly memorable is unparalleled and when coupled with the idyllic location and stunning views, it simply made this glamping experience one of a kind. The accommodation and facilities are first class (high spec) and the unique ‘Cow Shed’ was a great place for everyone of all ages to hang out and have some fun. The Farm Shop was an added bonus, adequately stocking all we needed. Nights were spend around our own ‘fire pit’ soaking up the serenity and atmosphere of the place and of course reenergising our souls. Finally, Henry, the owner, was charming and effervescent and frankly couldn’t do enough to ensure that our stay was hassle free & memorable. We loved this experience and would recommend it to anyone wanting something relaxing and different . We will certainly be back.“

“It’s hard to decide what we enjoyed the most at Troney Valley; the breath taking views, relaxing in the hot-tub, the warm welcome from our generous hosts, the freedom the kids had to run free and be ‘unplugged’ or the novelty of staying in a tent-cum-boutique-hotel. I can’t imagine getting bored at Troney Valley, even if you didn’t step foot off site for your entire stay. We had an amazing time and the kids won’t stop asking when we are going back. “This stay couldn’t really be described as glamping given the level of comfort! It was the ideal balance of escape from the city – beautiful countryside, no TV, wifi etc – and carefully considered details such as log-fuelled hot tub, a shower that was bigger than mine at home, four poster (extremely comfortable) bed, wood burning stove for heating and cooking – plus a couple of gas hobs for ease! The Barn also features plenty of entertainment such as pool table, games, table tennis etc making it a great place to come with friends or family. The location is ideal to explore beautiful Devon.
Henry is the perfect host and really couldn’t have done more to make our stay enjoyable. He sells locally-sourced produce in the barn – we stocked up on bacon and sausages for breakfast and lamb to cook on the bbq outside our glamp. Highly recommend.” Annette, June 2022

“What a wonderful setting and the accommodation was fantastic, better than we could have imagined. Stargazing from the decking is a must! Henry the host was very attentive and couldn’t do more to help which made our stay even more special. Henry has thought of absolutely every detail from super Comfy beds down to a chalk board for the kids and marshmallow skewers for the fire pit. | “This place is simply awe inspiring. Troney Valley Escapes, what a brilliant concept. The landscape setting that you wake up and go to sleep to (and just spend all day admiring) is nothing short of picturesque. We were originally planning on using this place as a stop to visit the local surroundings, but loved the place so much, we hardly moved, and in fact didn’t get any further than the great local pub (The Duck) a couple of miles away. Also, this was our first time “glamping”, so we didn’t know quite what to expect, but in the end, it surpassed all our expectations. Inside, it’s almost like a cottage on stilts! As already mentioned by other reviewers, the level of comfort and attention to detail, really makes it what it is, and in my opinion, worth every single penny. We went with three kids (aged 12-14), and this was the first time that we saw them not use their devices in three days, instead opting to play in the Cow Shed, or just roam around and discover in the plentiful space. This place just makes you want to disconnect. The host Henry is a really friendly and colourful character, and we couldn’t have asked more from him, as he was always popping by to ensure we had everything we needed. Even his youngest son, Arthur came over to play with our kids on a few occasions. We stayed at Deer’s Rest, which I think is my favourite out of the three glamps, as it has a hot tub, and the best scenic views, being situated in the middle. Don’t hesitate, just book the place. “Amazing stay! I cannot recommend these gorgeous lodges more, they are stunning, charming and have the most gorgeous views. Our boys had such a blast running around, swinging in the hammocks, roasting marshmallows and playing in the Cow Shed. The Owl’s Den was cozy and spacious, and has everything you’ll need. Henry is a fantastic host and you can tell he’s passionate about everyone having a good time! Deer’s Rest – was great with the eco hot tub and we used it every night – don’t miss out on it. The location is stunning and the safari tents have only been up since summer 2022 we took a chance on it with no reviews and are so glad we did. The honesty shop was ideal for our first night for pasta and sauces and the quality of the meat from the freezer was absolutely incredible. We took nothing bar changes of clothes and needed nothing! “Troney Valley Escapes – Deer’s Rest – absolutely stunning. I would say this must be one of the most beautiful places you could find to stay in the UK. The safari glamp is beyond impressive with everything you could need. The views are out of this world. My children are fortunate to have seen many amazing places in the world and declared this one of their favourites.
Henry the owner has a rare eye for detail. He has thought of everything with both adults and children in mind. He has created the “Cow Shed” where you can find everything to keep adults and kids entertained – loads of retro games, pool, fusball etc. Honesty shop with plenty of great produce. If you wish to have a camping experience without any of the stress, you won’t be disappointed. Surrounding area is stunning and also plenty to travel out and see – we enjoyed lakes, Dartmoor and beaches. We have left a part of our hearts here and can’t wait to return”. Amy, August 2022
“What a fantastic place! The views are phenomenal and there is everything you need to have the most perfect getaway. Calm, serene space, with lots of little luxuries – hammocks, your own fire pit, outside lighting, comfy beds, gorgeous bedding, full rainfall shower and private hot tub. The glamps are well spaced so you feel completely private and able to switch off from the world.
There is also plenty of entertainment in the Cow Shed games room – something for all ages, along with a lovely shop with a selection of essentials plus some BBQ goodies.

“Absolutely outstanding place to stay. I booked the location for my dad’s 60th birthday, there were 8 lads together and it was perfect. The accommodation was very clean and tidy and it had everything you needed for a nice relaxing stay. Plenty of logs and blankets if you are worried it may get a little bit chilly. The kitchen was fully equipped with pots and pans, cutlery, plates… everything you would expect to find in your own home. I am already looking a dates to go back and take my family (it’s perfect for kids!). Henry was a perfect host making sure we had everything we needed for our stay. As it was an extra special birthday for my dad, I wanted it to be extra special, Henry helped me organise a day of fishing on his beautiful private lake. He also recommended an awesome shooting club so we could do a bit of clay pigeon shooting. There was nothing I would change about my stay. “Can’t really add more than the previous reviews. The place is perfect. Henry (the one of a kind amazing host) has thought of everything. He asked me if there was anything missing. I asked my kids, they couldn’t think of a thing. It’s a large field but only 3 units and they are far enough apart to feel you have it to yourself. The play barn is, well you have to see it. Retro video games, pool, table tennis, a shop, darts, telly and hifi with retro videos and music and loads of buggies and scooters (and more!) to keep our 3 year old happy. Our 15 year old kids loved it. A beautiful, remote part of Devon. The morning view is beautiful. As you can tell, I would recommend this place.” Bruce, September 2022

“We had a wonderful stay and would recommend Henry’s place to anyone! The ‘glamp’ was so well appointed, filled with absolutely anything you might need. Even in late October, it was very comfortable and warm. The stove heats the space really well. The hot tub was wonderful, the kids loved the beds (especially the one with a little door) and The Cow Shed is brilliant – they happily spent hours in there playing on the table football, table tennis and other games. Henry’s place is utter perfection, glorious surroundings and the accommodation itself is mind-blowing – plenty of space to relax, cook and play games. 7 of us stayed at the Hare’s Hide for a friends 30th and couldn’t fault it – we enjoyed the hot tub, made s’mores at the firepit and the woodburner kept us nice and toasty inside, after exploring the surrounding area (highly recommend the walk to the Duck Inn, great food and drink selection). | “Even before heading to the property, our host Henry constantly communicated with us, offering recommendations and suggestions. Since the moment we arrived, Henry warmly welcomed us and showed us the activities we could do and the amenities available. Before we arrived he kept the fire going in the glamp so it was warm and cosy. Cow Shed was equipped with everything we needed from games and food to wood logs and mini trolleys. It was so much fun using the cow shed. The glamp is equipped with everything that a household needs and, moreover, the beds were properly prepared for a cold weather so we could be warm during the night. Keeping the fire going throughout the night was easy and we done it as we had a baby and a toddler with us. The hot tub was an absolute banger. Furthermore, burning logs to make the water hot it was very easy and the water lasted so long being warm. We hired one of Henry’s Glamps to host my sister’s hen weekend. We instantly felt relaxed. Henry was the most attentive host. He greeted us on arrival and showed us around the cowshed before helping us with our luggage – there was a lot! If we needed anything he was only a text away. The Glamp itself was stunning, everything you could possibly need was there. The views were breathtaking and the beds were super comfy! There was plenty of space for all and having the front deck canopy meant we could enjoy the great outdoors even while it rained. Henry even provided a basket of blankets to use both indoors and out. The full use of The Cowshed was an added bonus, as was the hot tub and fire pit!We have all said we couldn’t fault the place and would highly recommend it to everyone. “Henry was the best and most accommodating AirBnB host whilst a group of 8 stayed at Troney Valley Escapes for an October weekend for my best friend’s 30th birthday. Our glamp accommodation was spacious, sturdy, and kept us cosy and warm the entire weekend with its log fuelled ESSE cooker. The Cow Shed games barn is the ultimate good time venue! Pool tables, ping pong, darts, vintage arcade games and much more available to play all night whilst also storing a beautiful selection of locally sourced food. The location was stunning and very remote with great working 4G. “Stayed at Deer’s Rest with a group of 8 friends over the Easter weekend and absolutely loved it! The Cow Shed and the Hot tub are great perks that come along with the beautiful views, peace and quiet. The weather was a bit erratic but we had fun despite the intermittent rain.
